Wesbell is seeking a Leg Welder for our Milverton Ontario facility. This position is responsible for the fitting, fabrication, tacking, and welding of All-Weld tower section legs & splice pads. It requires the ability to position, fit, tack, & weld steel parts using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools. The person would be responsible to verify conformance of pieces to specifications using squares and/or tape measures, and deliver product in a safe, timely, and quality manner.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean & safe environment (Using the 5S Methodology can help with this).
- Follow drawings, weld symbols, and specific layouts.
- Square and level up leg Jig
- Tack pads to Legs
- Weld legs
- Stack legs in an orderly fashion in the proper location
- Organize & keep track of legs, pads, welding consumables, and other products needed for production.
Note - Leg Grinding job is a fluid job to be done by whoever can do it (leg welder if they are caught up, tacker if they need legs, or the section welder if they are caught up)
Education (Theoretical Training)
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Trade / Certification training preferred
Job Requirements & Experience
- Honesty/Integrity, a Strong Work ethic, & a Teachable attitude
- High Degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment
- Position requires standing 8+ hours per day & lifting up to 50lbs at times.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Reliable transportation to Milverton, ON
