Summary of Job
We are currently looking for a Supervisor for the STEM Camp Program to join our growing team. This role supports the Program Director with the administration and supervision of STEM-based recreation programs for children and teens. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You will be required to demonstrate critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and prioritize duties in a busy setting.
Work Schedule
We are seeking candidates for the summer: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Support instructors in the classroom to deliver high-quality programs.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance improvement of instructors, co-op students, and volunteers.
- Assist with delivering classes and programs that serve the communities while meeting the needs and interests of all participants inclusively.
- Conduct equipment inspections, manage inventory, and maintain the related documentation.
- Visit program sites throughout the City of Mississauga.
- Ability to communicate and engage with children, parents, guardians and City staff, addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism and care.
Skills & Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Recreation, Community Development, Education, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Experience with project management and community engagement is an asset.
- Ability to work in Mississauga program sites.
- Proficient in the Google Workspace.
Requirements
- Valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (must be able to transport course equipment).
- Current CPR -C /First Aid certification and HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development (14 days before start).
- Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) (14 days before start).
- Must complete online and in-person training and onboarding documents before program start.
Work Locations
Kids Great Minds works in partnership with municipalities across the GTA to provide computer courses in local community centres, libraries and schools. We are currently seeking candidates to work across various locations in Richmond Hill and the surrounding cities.
Compensation
Hourly wage: Starting from $24.00 to $30.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
