As we transition and position ourselves to scale, we’re looking for a proactive, organized, and career-minded Assistant Production Manager to support our production team in day-to-day operations, training, scheduling, and process improvements. This is a great opportunity to grow into a leadership role within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams, managing inventory and raw materials, and would preferentially have worked in an industrial food manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Supervise and support line workers and shift Supervisors as needed
- Assist in training new team members, reinforcing OKFD standards and procedures
- Promote positive communication across production, shipping, QA, and maintenance teams
- Maintain a culture of accountability, collaboration, and respect on the floor
Production planning:
- Assist in planning of production to meet sales quotas on a weekly basis
- Help in ensuring required resources are in place for all our production needs (order ingredients, plan maintenance together with the maintenance supervisor, etc)
- Daily manpower planning for each shift
Operations:
- Assist the Production Manager in coordinating day-to-day production activities
- Support production planning and scheduling to meet weekly sales targets
- Help oversee raw material availability and preparation of production resources
- Respond to real-time production issues and escalate as needed
- Monitor floor operations and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards time to ensure product quality is always meeting OKFD standards
Safety and Food Safety
- Support implementation of food safety programs (SQF, HACCP, GMP) in collaboration with the Food Safety Supervisor
- Monitor employee compliance with safety and sanitation procedures
- Participate in audits and documentation as required
- Be a safety advocate on the floor and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment
Maintenance
- Report equipment issues and support troubleshooting alongside the Maintenance team
- Assist in scheduling planned maintenance with minimal disruption to production
- Help document and track minor equipment issues for resolution
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2–4 years of supervisory or lead hand experience in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Solid understanding of production workflows and inventory coordination
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn production equipment operations
- Familiarity with food safety practices and willingness to lead by example
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings or weekends as needed
- Preferred: Knowledge of Food Safety procedures
- Preferred: Forklift certification
- Preferred: First aid certification
