Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid background in custodial services and facilities maintenance. This role is vital in ensuring that our environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for staff and visitors alike. The Housekeeping Supervisor will coordinate cleaning teams, manage schedules, and ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained consistently.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead housekeeping staff to ensure efficient completion of cleaning tasks across all areas of the facility.
- Assign daily duties to team members, monitor progress, and provide guidance as needed.
- Conduct inspections to verify cleanliness standards are met and identify areas for improvement.
- Train new staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and use of equipment such as hand tools, power tools, and custodial supplies.
- Oversee the use of cleaning equipment including commercial cleaning tools and power tools, ensuring proper operation and safety compliance.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders when necessary to maintain stock levels.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for facilities upkeep and repairs requiring specialized skills or tools.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations related to custodial work, heavy lifting, and the use of cleaning chemicals.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping preferably in a supervisory role for atleast 1 year.
- Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy-duty cleaning equipment.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with staff and addressing concerns promptly.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
- Prior experience with facilities maintenance or custodial operations is preferred but not mandatory.
