We are hiring Hog farm supervisors for a couple of our farms that are located close to Kincardine and Jarvis Ont. You will be part of our farm team, where we pride ourselves on our friendly, relaxed, and collaborative work culture. Candidates will work with and supervise farrowing or breeding technicians where they will be performing various jobs throughout the day as listed below. This jobs suits individuals who like to be active, have good attention to detail, like variety in their tasks, and are striving for continuous improvement.
This position requires previous related experience.
Job Duties:(but not limited to)
-oversee the daily activities in either farrowing or breeding departments
-feeding and watering of sows
- monitor and assist in the birthing process, and helping piglets get off to a good start
-detecting heat patterns in sows and performing artificial insemination
-monitoring and maintaining herd health and vaccinations
-moving sows using safe and, humane practices
-process, and medicate piglets
-power washing and cleaning of barn
-maintaining records
-general maintenance
-perform other duties as required
This is a full time, permanent position. 45-50hrs per week on average with every other weekend required to work. We offer competitive wages, quarterly bonus program, Full Benefits, and RRSP contribution. Hourly rate depends on experience with a range of $19.50-$23.00 per hour.
A minimum of high school and preferably a college certificate or training/experience in agriculture or livestock husbandry.
