Reporting to the Building and Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for diagnoses, repairs, maintenance and upgrades to our electronics systems and PLC controlled equipment. Executes emergency and preventative maintenance as well as various projects in all aspects of the Industrial Electrical field. install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair industrial equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls. This position requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as CNC machinery. You must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide technical support, and to maintain plant equipment and the building. To ensure continued production with maximum effect in our facility.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical/electronic control systems, CNC equipment and other hydraulic/pneumatic control devices.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications
- Maintains building equipment i.e.: Electrical distribution gear, wiring, lighting, ventilation, heating and emergency equipment & systems.
- Liaises with team leaders, outside contractors re: repairs/installations of equipment and machinery.
- Orders maintenance supplies as needed.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records for equipment and plant facility as per schedules.
- Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
- Works individually or as part of a team to successfully complete repairs or projects
- Safety – maintains a safe working environment for all his fellow workers at all times through adherence to OHSA and the company safety policies.
- Continuous Improvement: generates ideas, suggestions, methods/efficiency and equipment improvements and safe alternate routings.
- Performs all responsibilities/services in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- Quality Assurance procedures also to research better and more effective solutions.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Five years of related experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical and CNC, PLC knowledge and awareness of OHSA.
- Industrial Electrician (journey person) Certified
- Working at Heights and Elevating Work Platform license would be an asset.
