Overview
We are seeking experienced and dependable Truck Drivers to join our logistics team. This role involves transporting freight efficiently and safely across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of vehicle operation and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, familiarity with heavy equipment, and a commitment to excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight over designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reports for each trip
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to keep vehicles in optimal condition
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or damage during transit or loading/unloading processes
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL license
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and securement techniques
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance paperwork
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Ability to operate heavy equipment when required, demonstrating safety awareness and technical proficiency
