Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our PEI team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the proper upkeep and functionality of our properties. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and attractive living environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on properties, including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and property management.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders.
- Assist with the preparation of vacant units for new residents, including painting, cleaning, and repairs.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance requests.
- Collaborate with property management and other team members to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents and always maintain a professional demeanor.
- Assist with custodial requests, if needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled at navigating and utilizing digital tools (Buildium, Microsoft 365 etc.)
- Valid driver's license and must provide own vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in property management or residential maintenance.
