Role Overview
Cardinal Nannies & Caregivers Inc. is seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality, one-on-one care for our clients in the Durham Region. This role is ideal for those who excel in delivering holistic support that prioritizes a client’s dignity, safety, and comfort within their own home.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive assistance that encompasses all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and full household management. We are looking for individuals who are not only skilled in clinical support but are also committed to maintaining a clean, nutritious, and supportive living environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care (ADLs): Provide full assistance with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing/undressing, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Assist with safe transfers (e.g., bed to chair), ambulation, and prescribed light exercises.
- Household Management: Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure a tidy and hazard-free home, including vacuuming, dusting, and organizing living areas.
- Laundry Services: Manage the client’s personal laundry and linens regularly.
- Nutritious Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare healthy meals tailored to the client’s dietary needs and preferences.
- Safe Environment: Maintain a clean and comfortable atmosphere that promotes the client’s overall well-being and independence.
Requirements
- Valid PSW Certificate
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly compassionate.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience in geriatric care or supporting clients with cognitive impairments (Alzheimer’s/Dementia) is an asset
