Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Masonry Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various masonry and restoration projects, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the efficient progress of construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, basic knowledge of construction tools, and a willingness to learn and grow within the industry. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in masonry, renovation, and heavy equipment operation within a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and mixing of mortar, concrete, and other materials needed for masonry work
- Use hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and hammers to support bricklaying, stonework, and other masonry tasks
- Operate power tools safely to cut, shape, or install materials as directed by supervisors
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate project execution
- Support renovation and restoration efforts by removing old materials and preparing surfaces for new work
- Assist with heavy equipment operation when required for lifting or moving materials
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents on-site
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic masonry techniques is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics is advantageous
- Experience in renovation or restoration projects is beneficial
- Ability to operate heavy equipment with proper training or certification is desirable
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team are essential
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods
- Commitment to safety standards and procedures throughout all tasks
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
