About the Opportunity
SOCIS is seeking a professional, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities, and takes pride in contributing to the efficient operation of a community-focused organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome clients, visitors, and community partners in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls, emails, and general inquiries
- Perform bookkeeping duties, including accounts payable processing
- Assist with financial record keeping and reporting
- Maintain accurate and organized filing systems
- Coordinate scheduling for unionized employees
- Provide administrative support to the management team
- Assist with day-to-day office operations and special projects as required
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in administration, office management, bookkeeping, or a related role
- Knowledge of payroll processes and basic accounting principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong computer skills and confidence learning new technology
- Experience with QuickBooks (considered a strong asset)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment
- A professional, dependable, and positive approach to work
