PROTOPLAST Production Operator
This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of Protoplast described below:
Summary:The Production Operator will be required to perform tasks involving a high level of manual dexterity as well as using a variety of hand and power tools. Responsibilities will include the assembly of products using bolts, screws, clips, lubrication and assorted fasteners. Removal of plastic parts from injection Molds and trimming, inspecting and packaging. The Production Operator will be responsible for the efficient production of products according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies.

Specific Job Duties: Participate in daily team meetings and offer ideas/suggestions that contribute to meeting the performance objectives for the Injection Molding Department Consult with out going operator prior to shift change, and reading work instructions, pack instructions and quality alerts each time you are assigned a task and or molding press. Inspect parts unloaded from injection molding machine and remove flash with utility knife and/or other job assigned tools as needed. Check parts for molding defects and communicate identified defects to Supervisor or Quality Technician. Maintain set expectations and cycles when operating injection molding machines and or assembly lines. Learn all jobs in the mold production area to enable job rotation and continuos improvement activities. Maintain housekeeping in work area at all times. Perform other duties as required.
Educational Requirements: Ability to read, write and speak English effectively along with basic mathematical skills required. Grade 12 diploma and/or GED
Related Work Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset. Physical Requirements This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, the ability to lift up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the shoulders on an occasional basis. This position also requires a person to be capable of performing sustained motion for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day and capable of repetitive motion for up to four (4) hours. Good vision at a close distance is required.
Protoplast Training Requirements You will receive training to perform your job on an on-going basis concurrent with Protoplast business operations. Training areas will include safety, quality, continuous improvement and other job specific training that is determined to be an essential part of your job and Protoplast business operations.
Shift Rotation- Day/Aft weekly rotating 8 Hours per shift and Straight Nights 8 Hours shift, Must be flexible to work all shifts as required.
