Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Excavator Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy machinery, primarily excavators, to perform a variety of earth-moving tasks essential for successful project completion. Responsibilities
- Operate excavators safely and efficiently across multiple construction sites, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Perform excavation, trenching, loading, and site clearing tasks with precision, maintaining project timelines.
- Utilize additional heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers as needed to support project requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, including Caterpillar equipment and other brands, performing basic maintenance or reporting issues promptly.
- Assist with horizontal drilling operations and other specialized tasks requiring mechanical aptitude and technical understanding.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment use and ensure smooth workflow across various construction phases.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, safety checks, and operational logs for compliance and reporting purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation principles.
- Mechanical knowledge of construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery and related attachments enhances your ability to perform effectively on-site.
- Experience in horizontal drilling or paving projects is a plus but not mandatory.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification is preferred for transporting equipment between sites.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in dynamic environments while maintaining high productivity levels.
- Prior construction experience involving heavy machinery operation will set you apart as a top candidate.
