Dr. Terri Jackson is looking for two graduate students to assist with a project that explores executive functioning in a community-based setting on Prince Edward Island. This research will explore stakeholder groups including educators, pre-service teachers, parents/caregivers, and persons who identify as neurodiverse. The research will investigate participant experiences over a three-year project, participating in a community of practice. These GRA positions are for the second year of the research study.
The primary activities of the successful candidate will involve data collection (participatory narrative inquiry) and analysis and require in-person attendance at monthly evening sessions throughout the academic year. Furthermore, the successful candidates will be required to meet weekly, on campus, with the research team in addition to the monthly evening sessions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Weekly meetings with supervisor to discuss progress, transcribe and code data, analyze data, and complete scholarly endeavours; this may include updating an existing literature review as well as report and manuscript drafting

Collaborate in research in a community setting and engage in analysis of data with supervisor

Possible presentation of findings at local and national conferences
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a current Graduate student at UPEI

Ability to write clearly and concisely in English for academic purposes, and adjust writing based on mentoring and editing from supervisor

Skilled at attending to detail in research and writing

Interest in and experience with inclusive education and capacity-building initiatives

Access to transportation to data collection site (UPEI), as needed, during evenings (reimbursement for travel to UPEI will not be offered)

Ability to meet weekly, during business hours, with the research team at a scheduled time
This position is covered by a Collective Agreement between the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the University of Prince Edward Island. Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students.
