Music Teacher – Piano, Voice or Guitar
Heritage Music School Inc. is seeking reliable and qualified music teachers to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
We have several part-time contract teaching positions available at our Cloverdale and Fort Langley locations. These positions include established teaching schedules with returning students, along with opportunities for schedules to grow through new enrolment.
Applicants may apply for one or more positions based on their instrument qualifications, experience, and availability.
Available Positions
Cloverdale Location
- Piano teacher on Mondays
- Piano teacher on Wednesdays
- Voice teacher on Saturdays
- Piano and voice teacher on Saturdays
Fort Langley Location
- Guitar teacher on Mondays
Teaching hours are primarily during after-school and evening hours on weekdays and daytime hours on Saturdays.
Position Details
- Contract rate: $34–$40 per teaching hour
- Rate is based on music qualifications, teaching experience, and the position
- Part-time contractor position
- Established schedules with returning students
- Expected start: September 2026
- School-year commitment through June 2027
- In-person teaching at our Cloverdale or Fort Langley location

Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and structured private music lessons
- Prepare lessons appropriate to each student’s age, experience, and goals
- Teach proper technique, musicianship, music reading, and performance skills
- Encourage students while maintaining clear learning expectations
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school administration
- Maintain accurate attendance and lesson information
- Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled lessons
- Commit to a consistent weekly teaching schedule
- Prepare students for the annual school recital and music examinations when appropriate
- Follow Heritage Music School’s policies and professional expectations
Qualifications
Successful applicants should have:
- Strong proficiency in the instrument or subject they are applying to teach
- Formal music education, recognized music qualifications, or equivalent teaching and performance experience
- Previous private music teaching experience
- The ability to teach beginner and intermediate students
- The ability to work effectively with children, teenagers, and adult students
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- A dependable, professional, and encouraging teaching style
- Reliable transportation to the applicable teaching location
- The ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check
Experience with Royal Conservatory of Music materials, Faber Piano Adventures, or other recognized teaching methods is an asset.
