ADM Access is currently expanding its Construction team to ensure we can help more people be independent in their homes. We are currently looking for a dedicated, caring individual who can work with seniors and disabled in their private homes as we adapt their homes to their changing needs. Full training will be provided with supervision, until candidate is deemed to be able to be independent.
The successful candidate will:
- Able to perform demolition and construction, neatly and efficiently
- Excellent ability in framing, drywall, taping, mudding, tiling, grouting and painting
- Good understanding of plumbing and electrical (doesn’t have to be a specialist)
- Good understanding of drawings for house plans and elevators
- Willing and capable of learning all of the above
- Have excellent English oral and written communication skills, without heavy accent
- Must have Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (no criminal record)
- Must have reliable, consistent access to vehicle and clear Drivers’ Abstract
- Able to work 9AM - 5PM Monday to Friday, with occasional longer days and weekends
Soft skills needed:
- Patient and understanding of disabilities
- Ability to work with seniors
- Ability to communicate with family members when needed to explain processes and timelines (only if someone from the office is not available to do so)
- Excellent time management to meet deadlines and stay within budget
- Self-motivated to ensure work is being done when working independently
Please note this is a hands-on job and not a Project Management Job. Position is ongoing, permanent for the successful candidate. This is a payroll position or can be hired as an independent contractor, but no cash applicants please. Pay rate is commensurate with experience, with regular increases based on performance.
Pay: $18.00-$30.00 per hour
