We are looking for an amazing Certified Music Therapist (MTA) and Registered Psychotherapist (RP) to join our team to provide engaging, evidence-informed music therapy and psychotherapy to children within our clinic setting.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide individualized music therapy and psychotherapy services to children and youth with diverse abilities and needs.
The role offers the opportunity to use music as a therapeutic medium while also providing psychotherapy within the practitioner's professional scope and competence. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with SLP's, OT's, and other clinicians to support each child's individualized treatment goals.
Depending on the child's needs, interventions may address communication, social interaction, emotional expression, self-regulation, confidence, anxiety, behaviour, engagement, coping skills, and other developmental or psychosocial goals.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment goals and intervention plans
- Provide individual and/or small-group music therapy sessions with children
- Integrate music-based therapeutic interventions with psychotherapy when clinically appropriate
- Use music, songwriting, improvisation, rhythm, movement, instrument play, and other creative approaches to support therapeutic goals
- Adapt interventions to accommodate different communication styles, developmental levels, sensory needs, abilities, and interests
- Maintain clear, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation and treatment records
- Monitor client progress and modify treatment approaches as appropriate
- Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team
- Communicate professionally with parents and caregivers regarding treatment and progress
- Contribute to a warm, inclusive, safe, and engaging therapeutic environment.
Your Qualifications
- Music Therapist Accredited (MTA) through the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT) is required
- Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) is required
- Demonstrated competence and experience providing psychotherapy to children and/or youth
- Strong musical skills and the ability to use a variety of instruments and therapeutic music techniques
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Vulnerable sector screening and other clinic-required documentation as applicable
