Job Overview
We're looking for a friendly, dependable Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our cozy café team part-time. Three days a week, from 11:00am-4:30pm. This role is at the heart of keeping our kitchen running smoothly—from helping prepare fresh ingredients to keeping our workspace clean, organized, and welcoming. Duties
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and basic meal assembly
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently to maintain cleanliness and availability of kitchen tools
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, equipment, and work areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Support the cooking team by preparing ingredients and assisting with meal assembly as needed
- Ensure proper handling and storage of food items to prevent contamination
- Follow all safety procedures related to food handling and sanitation
- Restock supplies and organize storage areas for efficiency during service hours
- Support serving staff during busy periods by managing dishware and assisting with basic food service tasks
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant environment, or kitchen work is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends if needed
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as washing dishes or preparing ingredients
- Basic understanding of serving, cooking, and meal preparation techniques is advantageous

Pay: $15.38-$19.00 per hour
