The Opportunity
Wolverine is seeking a Superintendent to lead field execution on industrial construction and maintenance projects throughout the Sarnia-Lambton region.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can coordinate trades, communicate effectively with clients and project teams, and keep work moving safely, efficiently, and profitably.
The successful candidate will be supported by Project Managers and Operations leadership while learning Wolverine's systems, standards, values, and approach to project execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field execution of industrial construction and maintenance projects.
- Coordinate Wolverine personnel, subcontractors, equipment, and resources.
- Develop and drive daily, weekly, and look-ahead work plans.
- Ensure crews are prepared with materials, drawings, permits, equipment, and access requirements.
- Understand project scope, schedule, priorities, and deliverables.
- Participate in project planning, outage planning, schedule reviews, and execution strategy discussions.
- Maintain strong communication with Project Managers, Operations leadership, and client field representatives.
- Identify and communicate scope changes, schedule impacts, execution risks, and opportunities as they arise.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower records, and field documentation.
- Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to Wolverine quality standards.
- Lead safety meetings, field audits, permit reviews, and incident investigations as required.
- Mentor foremen and field leaders while building strong project teams.
- Assist with manpower planning, productivity tracking, and resource coordination.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, maintenance scopes, and outage activities as required.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of industrial construction, maintenance, or field leadership experience.
- Strong background in petrochemical, refining, power generation, or heavy industrial work.
- Previous unionized field experience is highly preferred.
- Pipefitter, Boilermaker, or similar industrial trade background considered a strong asset.
- Proven ability to lead crews, coordinate field work, and manage subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of safe work execution, planning, scheduling, productivity, and industrial field operations.
- Willingness to learn Wolverine's systems, standards, values, and way of doing business.
- Coachable, accountable, and open to feedback.
- Ability to identify issues, ask the right questions, and escalate concerns early.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common construction management tools is considered an asset.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to grow into increasing levels of responsibility.
