Reporting to the Assistant Registrar, Recruitment, this position advises prospective students on their program selection and admission to all undergraduate and graduate programs. This position plays a key role in CUE’s achievement of enrolment targets and is accountable for conveying the benefits of a CUE education to the public.
This position’s primary responsibility is to support the university recruitment plan by traveling to and liaising with Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, high school staff and students, mature students, and other stakeholders from the community. This position supports all prospective students, including both domestic and international.
This position serves as an ambassador by providing information about CUE programs and services for the purpose of generating inquiries and applications via on- and off-campus and virtual events, presentations, meetings, and information sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain working relationships with high school counselors, career advisors, prospective students, parents, and other external audiences.

Visit middle schools, high schools, and post-secondary institutions, speak to groups and individual students, and meet with school counsellors to promote outreach activities.

Disseminate CUE information to target markets, internal and external contacts from all services and programs within the university.

Organize and deliver engaging recruitment presentations and staff information booths to generate inquiries, leads, and student applications.

Assist in the development of the University's student recruitment program.

Collect and analyze data from recruitment events to inform and improve future outreach strategies.

Conduct timely and strategic follow-up on recruitment leads to help meet institutional enrolment goals.

Liaise with departments, faculty, and staff within the institution regarding participation in student recruitment activities and obtaining program specific information to be used in program promotion.

Attend post-secondary fairs, career fairs, and other events outside of regular hours and travel to various schools throughout Western Canada.

Respond to inquiries made in person, by phone, email or mail in an appropriate and timely manner.

Provide pre-admission advising through appointments, walk-ins, group presentations, campus tours, and recruitment events, covering academic programs, funding options, career paths, and student life.

Assess prospective student needs and refer to appropriate internal or external resources and support services as required.

Assist prospective students towards the admissions process, ensuring a smooth transition from inquiry to application.

Ensure the integrity of information provided to students when advising with discretion and tact to avoid misunderstandings or difficult encounters.

Maintain an in-depth knowledge of calendar admission criteria for all faculties and their various programs.

Plan, coordinate and implement on-campus and virtual activities such as special events (Open House, Info Night), presentations and tours.

Extensive travel planning requiring logistics in advance.

Travel may be within the scheduled workday or consist of overnight stays in another town/city for several nights at a time. Out of town/off-campus events require booking hotels, arranging transportation, and developing a travel schedule.

Liaise with recruitment teams from other post-secondary institutions to facilitate and coordinate travel itineraries.

Assist in the creation of customized promotional material packages for events and recruitment activities. Recommend, create and/or aid in the production of internal and external resource materials: Viewbook, tri-fold cards, newsletter, and marketing materials.

Develop, plan, write and deliver/implement CUE presentations (power point or other means), workshops, and resources.

Collaborate with recruitment colleagues and external partners to provide feedback and contribute ideas for marketing and outreach materials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:-
Broad understanding of secondary institutions in Alberta and all other provinces (specifically Western Canada).
- Ability to travel independently for extended periods of time.

Effective organizational skills to manage various work assignments given frequent interruptions while maintaining attention to details.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, record-keeping, and ability to maintain professionalism and courtesy in answering/delivering telephone messages.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, and deal with conflict using tact and discretion.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to modify duties when required.

Ability to exercise good judgement within established guidelines and capable of working with frequent disturbances.

Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, including managing travel schedules and leading projects.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Google Workspace, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software applications.
Education and Qualifications:-
An undergraduate degree with a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the customer service industry is required.

Valid class 5 Drivers’ License and clean driving abstract with the ability to work flexible hours and travel is required.

Ability to successfully pass a security clearance is required.
