RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mechanical design of automation equipment
- Preparing and issuing drawings and BOMs for purchasing & production
- Detailing of existing designs for production
- Perform revisions and updates to existing AutoDesk Inventor drawings
- Create design proposal drawings for client approval
- Understand client requirements, determine project direction, and required project features
- Assist other designers with the mechanical design and detailing of larger systems
- Complete required machine build drawings as required
- Complete “as built” drawing updates on machinery
- Review updates/ changes with other departments
- Meet with internal designers, project managers and sales reps to evaluate the design and ensure requirements are met
- Work in conjunction with the other members of the team, such as the electrical designer and the mechanical assembler/ developer during all stages of machine design/ build
- Communicate project concerns, project status, and design solutions with management
- Assist other personnel during the equipment build, observe and monitor build progress
- Create and revise equipment manuals and documentation
- Occasional travel as required
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in equipment testing and set-up on the shop floor
- Assist with Customer Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) during customer visits
Skills and Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering Design Technologist (5+ years of experience)
- Proficiency with AutoDesk Inventor (or equivalent) + Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
