Apprentice Glazier
DNO Glass is seeking an Apprentice Glazier to become part of our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills in the glazing trade while working toward becoming a Journeyman Glazier.
As an Apprentice Glazier, you'll work alongside experienced Journeymen, Foremen, and the Superintendent, assisting with the installation of commercial glazing systems and gaining practical, hands-on experience on a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of storefronts, curtain wall systems, doors, frames, hardware, and glass.
- Carry out basic installation tasks independently when appropriate.
- Read and understand shop drawings, project details, and specifications.
- Assist with layout, opening verification, frame installation, anchoring, flashing, waterproofing, gasketing, and sealant application.
- Help complete service work, glass replacements, and repairs.
- Safely use and maintain tools, equipment, lifts, and fall protection systems.
- Follow all company safety policies and job site requirements.
- Report material shortages, installation issues, or site conflicts to the Foreman or Superintendent.
- Work professionally with coworkers, contractors, inspectors, and other trades.
- Continue developing the skills and knowledge required to progress toward Journeyman status.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in glazing or the construction industry is an asset.
- Currently registered in, or willing to enroll in, a Glazier Apprenticeship program.
- Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality.
- Able to follow instructions while working effectively within a team.
- Committed to producing quality work with attention to detail.
- Eager to learn, take initiative, and accept responsibility.
- Comfortable working at heights while using required PPE.
- A valid driver's licence is considered an asset.
