Key Responsibilities
Classroom Leadership & Program Delivery
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities aligned with early learning frameworks
- Create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Guide children’s development in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical areas
- Maintain strong classroom management and positive behavior guidance
Planning & Documentation
- Complete weekly/monthly planning sheets and ensure alignment with program expectations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date learning logs and child observations
- Ensure all documentation is completed on time and to a high standard
- Use observations to inform programming and individualize learning
Compliance & Standards
- Follow all licensing regulations, health & safety policies, and internal standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Participate in classroom and program audits and implement feedback promptly
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers and support staff
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding classroom needs and concerns
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
Parent Communication
- Build strong, professional relationships with families
- Provide regular updates on children’s progress and experiences
- Address parent questions and concerns in a timely and respectful manner
Qualifications
- Valid ECE Certification (required)
- BC License to Practice (required)
- Current First Aid Certification
- Minimum 1–2 years experience in a licensed childcare setting
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning practices
