The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Education Outreach Program Coordinator to support the development and delivery of public education and mental health literacy initiatives across Alberta. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in psychology, communications, community engagement, and nonprofit program development.
This role is strictly non-clinical and focuses on education, communications, outreach, resource development, and community engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Public Education & Resource Development
- Assist in developing and updating educational materials, presentations, and digital resources for community events and mental health campaigns.
- Create social media content, short videos, and public education resources that promote mental health literacy and evidence-informed psychological information.
- Support the maintenance and updating of referral resources, educational tools, and public information materials.
Community Outreach & Engagement
- Coordinate logistics for outreach activities, including wellness fairs, career events, and community information booths.
- Research outreach opportunities and prepare materials for events.
- Respond to member and public inquiries in a professional, supportive, and non-clinical manner, connecting individuals with appropriate information and resources.
Program & Partnership Support
- Assist with the development of PAA’s online Psychology Career Program through research on educational pathways, career options, and student-focused resources.
- Research potential partners and sponsors and support outreach and engagement activities.
- Contribute to planning and delivering initiatives that improve access to psychological services across Alberta.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with PAA staff to ensure public-facing materials are accurate, accessible, and engaging.
- Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and regular supervision sessions to support professional development and project success.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology or
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Psychology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in mental health education, public engagement, and community outreach.
- Experience creating digital content (social media, videos, presentations, or educational materials).
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional office environment.
- Strong people/relational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common digital communication tools.
