Prep Cook - Child Care Facility
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a prep cook at our child care facility. This dual role is essential to providing a safe, clean, and nourishing environment for the children in our care. The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing healthy meals for young children and maintaining a hygienic and orderly facility. They will work along side the cook to prepare, serve and clean up from meal time.
Cook Responsibilities:
- Assisting in preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks for children of various ages, adhering to dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Ensure all food preparation and storage follows strict health and safety guidelines.
- Keep the kitchen area clean, organized, and sanitized at all times.
- Collaborate with staff on menu planning and nutritional education.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in food preparation, preferably in a child care setting.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid criminal record check and vulnerable sector check will be required upon hiring.
- First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
