Job Summary
We are seeking a Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in construction painting and related trades is highly valued, along with a commitment to craftsmanship and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine project requirements.
- Use hand tools and power tools such as drills, sanders, and sprayers to complete painting tasks accurately.
- Perform surface repairs including caulking, patching holes, and sealing cracks before painting.
- Assist with related construction tasks such as cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, or masonry work when needed.
- Operate heavy equipment or machinery safely if required for specific projects like restoration or concrete finishing.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials properly.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries on site.
Skills
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, caulking techniques, and spray equipment.
- Knowledge of construction processes including concrete forming, finishing, restoration, masonry, plumbing, electrical systems, and welding is advantageous.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when necessary for specific projects such as concrete finishing or restoration work.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating principles and carpentry skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with flooring installation and tile laying techniques enhances versatility in project tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
