Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our busy restaurant team for 2+ days/ week. Ideally Mondays and Wednesdays ( flexible). The pay is $18/hour + weekly cash tips. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting food preparation, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dining service. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a team-focused setting. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided to ensure you succeed in your role. This could also be a great position for a young aspiring cook to make their start in the industry.
Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold food safety standards
- Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff
- Support food service operations by maintaining cleanliness in food prep areas and dining spaces
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of low stock items
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, and cleaning work surfaces
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by providing additional assistance with meal assembly or plating as needed
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling and sanitation procedures
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for all new hires
- Familiarity with basic cooking techniques, meal preparation, and food safety practices is advantageous
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with attention to cleanliness and organization is desirable
- Candidates should demonstrate good communication skills, teamwork orientation, and a strong work ethic
