Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Ensure database performance, availability, and security through regular monitoring and maintenance.
Perform database tuning, backup, restoration, and support disaster recovery business continuity planning.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks and system outages.
Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and routine maintenance activities.
Manage database security, user access, and permissions.
Support software deployments, upgrades, database migrations, and system enhancements.
Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
Develop, maintain, and optimize core reporting solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI Report Server (PBIRS ) and Report Builder .
Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and self-service business intelligence solutions using optimized SQL data sources.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver scalable reporting and dashboard solutions.
Support reporting solutions, including SSRS, PBIRS, Crystal Reports, and ERP reporting requirements.
Communicate directly with external clients to troubleshoot issues, gather requirements, provide technical support, and deliver database-related solutions.
Develop and maintain database documentation, reporting procedures, and technical standards.
Participate in system maintenance activities and provide support for critical database incidents as required.
Minimum two-year post-secondary diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases in a production environment.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
Experience with database backup and recovery, performance tuning, best practices, and security management.
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) , and Report Builder .
Experience developing interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI .
Experience communicating with external clients or customers to provide technical support and resolve issues.
Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts, data transformation, and data integration best practices.
Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions is considered an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Azure MS SQL PaaS environments.
Familiarity with PowerShell or other scripting languages is considered an asset.
Experience with SAP Business One (SAP B1) and Crystal Reports is considered an asset.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
