As a Child and Youth Worker, you will provide direct care, mentorship, and daily support while helping create a safe, nurturing, and culturally responsive environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Hours: Casual positions available immediately with opportunities to transition into part-time or full-time as our program continues to grow. Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday availability is an asset.

What You'll Do
As a Child and Youth Worker, you will:
- Provide direct care and supervision to children and youth in a residential setting.
- Build positive, trusting relationships through consistency, compassion, and respect.
- Support children with daily routines, personal care, life skills, and community involvement.
- Implement individualized care plans, behaviour support strategies, and safety plans.
- Support children during behavioural escalations using trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches.
- Administer medications in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Complete accurate daily documentation, shift notes, medication records, and Critical Incident Reports (CIRs).
- Transport children to appointments, school, recreational activities, and community outings.
- Assist with meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and welcoming home environment.
- Participate in recreational, educational, and cultural activities with children and youth.
- Maintain open communication with Team Leads and management regarding concerns or significant events.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Follow all licensing requirements, organizational policies, and Canadian Accreditation Council (CAC) standards.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the needs of the program.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Diploma in Child and Youth Care, Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent education combined with relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience working with children and youth with behavioural, developmental, medical, or mental health needs is considered a strong asset.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Current Driver's Abstract.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Child Intervention Record Check.
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C + AED.
- Medication Administration Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Trauma-Informed Care Training.
- Suicide Prevention Training (ASIST or SafeTALK).
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or similar behavioural intervention training.
- Restrictive Procedures Training (or willingness to obtain).
Assets
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience working in residential care or group homes.
- Experience supporting Indigenous children, youth, or families.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and culturally responsive care.
- Experience working within a CAC-accredited organization.
- Mental Health First Aid.
- Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
