What is the opportunity:
The Quality Assurance role will complete Quality Assurance reviews on audits performed by Energy Safety Canada auditors and provide support for additional COR program requirements and SA&C department activities.
What will you do:

Conduct audit quality assurance reviews to ensure they meet government requirements, including coaching auditors and employers in select circumstances.

Provide coverage for select SA&C administrative duties as well as the creation/revision of SA&C departmental SOPs and/or governing bodies standards.

Assist with auditor and employer workshop development and delivery and other SA&C outreach activities as required.

Participate in onsite verification audits.

Provide support to the ESC internal EHS function administrated by the SA&C department, including creation/revision of EHS standards, procedures, and resources.

Other duties as required.
What you need to succeed:
-
Post-secondary education in Health and Safety or related/relevant field.

Working towards or completed a recognized safety designation such as: CRST, CRSP, CSP.

Working towards or completed certification as an auditor.

Health and safety function related work experience.

Proficient in standard IT tools, e.g., Microsoft Office apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint,Teams.

Knowledgeable on health and safety management systems and management system auditing (ideally COR or ISO 45001 / 19011 auditing).

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Exemplary interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

High degree of personal accountability and team oriented in accomplishing goals.

Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to be productive under variable work loads (i.e., remain effective and productive through high and low QA).

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with confidence to make decisions to remain self-sufficient and productive.
