OVERVIEW
The Senior Digital Designer, Marketing supports the execution and elevation of Stormtech’s digital-first creative across email, social, ecommerce, web assets, digital sales tools, and campaign channels.
This role is for a highly creative, proactive, and digitally fluent designer who can take approved strategy, campaign direction, and creative briefs and translate them into strong digital creative. The Senior Digital Designer, Marketing should bring strong design judgment, apparel/lifestyle brand understanding, UX/UI-informed thinking, digital campaign experience, and the ability to create assets that are visually compelling, on brand, and effective for the channel.
This role will work closely with the Director of Marketing, Brand + Creative, Digital Operations, Creative Services, and Stormtech’s agency partners. This role is both execution-focused and design-focused.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Digital-First Creative Execution
- Design digital-first assets across email, social, ecommerce, web, paid media, digital catalogues, sales tools, and campaign channels.
- Translate approved briefs, campaign direction, and business needs into strong design concepts and polished final assets.
- Create assets intentionally for the channel, format, customer journey, and user experience.
- Bring creative recommendations, options, and rationale to reviews.
- Help build digital design standards, templates, and repeatable systems for recurring needs.
- Support the evolution of Stormtech’s digital brand expression across customer-facing channels.
Email Campaign & Lifecycle Creative Support
- Support the design and adaptation of email campaign creative, including promotional emails, product launches, lifecycle/journey assets, and modular email systems.
- Work from approved campaign strategy, briefs, messaging direction, and agency/internal templates to create or adapt email creative when needed.
- Design email layouts and assets with strong hierarchy, mobile readability, CTA clarity, and audience relevance.
- Partner with the internal team and agency partners to ensure email creative supports audience needs, journey logic, deployment requirements, and campaign goals.
- Help maintain reusable email modules, templates, and design standards to improve consistency and speed.
- Support overflow, versioning, adaptation, and internal execution of email assets where it makes sense to bring work in-house.
Social, Campaign & Paid Media Creative
- Design elevated social creative, paid social/static ads, campaign assets, story/reel covers, promotional graphics, and content series.
- Translate campaign direction into digital asset systems that can scale across email, web, social, ecommerce, and paid placements.
- Partner with Brand + Creative Specialist on lifestyle, ambassador, UGC, content, and social storytelling needs.
- Bring a strong understanding of apparel, product styling, lifestyle storytelling, and customer mindset to digital creative.
Ecommerce, Web & Digital Sales Tools
- Design ecommerce banners, homepage graphics, collection page assets, product feature graphics, landing page visuals, and promotional web creative.
- Support B2B and B2C visual needs in partnership with internal team and agency partners.
- Design digital lookbooks, digital product guides, flipbooks, pitch decks, and sales tools with a digital-first approach.
- Create online experiences that consider navigation, linking, hierarchy, readability, mobile use, customer needs, and conversion paths.
- Apply UX-informed design principles, including scannability, spacing, accessibility basics, CTA clarity, and mobile-first thinking.
- Identify opportunities to improve digital presentation, consistency, and customer experience.
Brand Consistency & Creative Quality
- Maintain brand consistency across all digital channels.
- Ensure digital creative aligns with approved brand direction, seasonal campaigns, product positioning, and visual standards.
- Review work carefully for layout, typography, image quality, spacing, alignment, file setup, and channel requirements.
- Provide clear design rationale and explain creative decisions when presenting work.
- Identify where digital creative needs to differ from print and recommend stronger digital-first approaches.
- Help develop digital design libraries, templates, and asset standards to improve efficiency and quality.
Collaboration & Workflow
- Work within the strategy, priorities, and campaign plans set by the Director of Marketing.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing, Brand + Creative Specialist, Digital Operations, Creative Services, and agency partners to move digital work forward.
- Partner with agency partners where they remain the lead on larger campaigns, advanced email work, journey creative, digital systems, or overflow support.
- Support faster internal execution by taking on recurring, templated, versioning, adaptation, and digital asset needs that do not require full agency involvement.
- Partner with Creative Services where print source files, photography, or production assets overlap, while maintaining a digital-first approach.
- Keep assigned work organized and current in Asana or the team’s project management system.
- Communicate status, timelines, blockers, and next steps clearly.
- Ask strong clarifying questions and flag missing information early.
- Support internal team members on digital design best practices where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in digital design, brand design, ecommerce design, apparel/lifestyle design, or a related creative role.
- Strong portfolio showing elevated digital-first design work across email, social, ecommerce, web, paid media, campaigns, and/or digital catalogues.
- Experience designing for a clothing, outdoor, lifestyle, retail, ecommerce, or consumer brand is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to take a creative brief and develop strong creative concepts and final assets.
- Experience creating multi-channel campaign assets and digital design systems.
- Experience designing or supporting email campaign creative and digital-first marketing assets is required.
- Experience working with marketing, ecommerce, creative, and agency teams.
- In-house brand experience, agency experience, or a combination of both is an asset.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Figma is required.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Strong understanding of digital layout, visual hierarchy, typography, mobile-first design, and basic UX principles.
- Experience designing for email, ecommerce, social, web, paid media, and digital campaign formats.
- Ability to build templates, modular design systems, and scalable digital asset formats.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Shopify, email platforms, or ecommerce environments is an asset.
- Understanding of email design limitations, responsive layouts, and handoff requirements is an asset.
- Experience using Asana or similar project management tools is an asset.
