Structural / Civil Engineer:
The successful Structural / Civil Engineer will support project teams who plan, schedule, coordinate and execute multidisciplinary engineering projects for clients within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
This position is open to E.I.T.s, Junior, and Intermediate engineers. Responsibilities will vary accordingly.
The applicants selected for the positions will be responsible for the following:
· Provide Structural / Civil engineering management and technical expertise for industrial and facility projects such as facility design, equipment foundations, equipment modules, process piping supports, pipelines, material stress analysis, and field services. Including performing new designs, evaluating existing structures, and performing inspections.
· Create proposals, fee estimates, and contract documents for the above projects and support Project Managers for multidisciplinary projects.
· Preparation of engineering designs and calculations, technical memorandums, reports and studies for the above projects.
· Oversee the preparation of structural / civil design drawings and specifications.
· Complete site visits for project scoping, construction support, field inspections and assessments.
· Interface directly with clients, project managers, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements, expectations, and needs.
· Oversee project scoping, budgeting, designing, and managing of civil and structural projects.
· Collaborate with the project team comprised of engineers, designers, project coordinators, and others, to develop multidisciplinary drawings and specifications
· Manage client relations at both a technical and commercial level to achieve client satisfaction and leverage further opportunities.
· Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues with the PMs as they arise. Coordinate with clients and PMs to proactively address changes to scope, schedules, and budgets.
Provide technical guidance to EITs and designers to deliver preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications.
Train and assist project managers, designers, client managers, and support staff.
Skills/Experience:
· Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Structural/Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
· 2+ years experience and registered with APEGA as a P.Eng. or E.I.T..
· Experience with EPC/oil and gas project experience or Fabrication experience.
· Experience with structural engineering software and calculations
· Confidence reading and redlining fabrication and design drawings.
· Handles multiple concurrent timelines and projects well.
· Strong communication skills.
