Van Isle Windows Ltd. is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Accounting team!
As a key member of the Accounting team, the Accountant is responsible for managing accounts payable, maintaining accurate financial records, and processing transactions with a high degree of accuracy. Reporting to the Controller, this role supports a range of accounting functions, including acting as back-up for accounts receivable as required, inventory records & reports, and general ledger activities.

Key Role Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and support accounts receivable as required
- Participating with inventory processes such as cycle counts and verifying inventory records & reporting
- Prepare monthly sales tax remittances for review and filing
- Accurately code and process purchase invoices and prepare timely weekly vendor payments
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Analyze general ledger accounts and variances
- Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting
- Maintain confidentiality of all personal and financial information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What You Bring:
- Three to five years of progressive, relevant experience, ideally in manufacturing or an industrial environment
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Familiarity with transaction cycles
- Experience with Sage Accounting, Payworks and QuickBooks is preferred.
- Strong Excel, MS Office and overall computer/system skills
- Knowledge of small business accounting practices is an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Proactive mindset with strong initiative
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Progress toward a CPA designation is considered an asset, but not required
What We Offer:
Location: Victoria, BC,
Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 annually, plus comprehensive benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
