Wage: CA$17.64 – CA$28.62 per hour
Start Date: Week of June 22, 2026
Little Hummingbirds Daycare & OSC is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Inclusion Support Educator to join our team for the summer.
This position is focused on supporting a child's successful participation within the classroom while promoting inclusion, independence, and meaningful engagement with peers. The successful candidate will work alongside the classroom team to create opportunities for all children to learn, connect, and thrive together.
We are looking for an educator who believes that all children can be successful when provided with the right supports, guidance, consistency, and opportunities to belong. Through relationship-building, visual supports, proactive strategies, and clear boundaries, the Inclusion Support Educator will help foster confidence, participation, and success within the classroom environment.
This is a summer contract position, with the potential to transition into a classroom educator role at the conclusion of the contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Support a child's participation in daily routines, transitions, learning experiences, and social interactions.
- Use visual supports, proactive strategies, and clear expectations to help children navigate the day successfully.
- Foster independence by providing guidance and encouragement while helping children build confidence and self-regulation skills.
- Support positive peer interactions and meaningful inclusion within the classroom community.
- Implement individualized strategies and recommendations from families and support professionals.
- Provide co-regulation and emotional support using a calm, responsive approach.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and consistent expectations while nurturing positive relationships.
- Collaborate closely with classroom educators, families, leadership, and support professionals to ensure consistent care and support.
- Observe, document, and communicate progress, successes, and areas requiring additional support.
Required Qualifications
- Early Childhood Educator certification (Level 1, 2, or 3).
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search completed within the last three months.
- Experience working with children in an early learning environment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting children with diverse developmental, behavioural, or social-emotional needs.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices, visual supports, self-regulation strategies, and positive guidance techniques.
- Experience collaborating with families and external support professionals.
