Responsibilities include:
- Prepare bills of lading, customs forms, and other shipping documents manually or by computer
- Maintain internal, manual, or computerized record-keeping systems
- Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify the accuracy of the shipment
- Oversee packing, sealing, and labeling materials to prepare for shipping
- Contacts resource people for various information. Contact transport companies and customers to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
- Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and/or standards and complete appropriate documentation as required
- Order and store shipping supplies to maintain stock inventory
- Maintain the shipping and receiving area
- Participates in taking inventory
- Perform tasks in multi-temperature environments
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to operate a forklift
- Significant attention to detail, accuracy, adaptability/flexibility, and initiative
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong competence with regard to most office computer applications
- Demonstrated competence in working with figures
- Ability to organize and prioritize work activities
- Must work well under pressure
- Must be able to work within and contribute to a team environment
- Able to respect and maintain confidentiality
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
