Role Description
Banman Psychotherapy is seeking a qualified independent contractor for the role of Registered Psychotherapist, located in St Thomas, ON. This is an in-person position. As a Registered Psychotherapist, you would be responsible for providing quality, evidence-based psychotherapy to clients and adhering to CRPO's ethical standards. Although hours are not guaranteed, there are regularly inquiries for service in this practice. This is a part-time role with the potential to turn into full time.
The fee split is variable based on years of practice and registration status.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a Registered Psychotherapist who has experience providing psychotherapy to adults, including risk assessments, trauma therapy, and long-term therapy.
Please note that if you are qualifying, supervision is not able to be offered until 2027 and until that time, you would be required to have an external supervisor.
Partnership
We handle the back-end of the practice such as advertising, billing, and the Jane subscription so that you can focus on the clinical work. We help you grow your practice through advertising and referrals but ask that you focus on retention through providing quality care, building long-term therapeutic relationships, and consistency.
This is a private practice that has been built from the ground up, and we put our trust in you to maintain a well respected reputation in the community. We expect our therapists to live up to and maintain the reputation by providing trustworthy, quality care and having strong therapeutic alliances with clients.
Banman Psychotherapy offers a free Psychology Today profile, a bio on the company website and additional advertising opportunities. Successful candidates may be asked to contribute to advertising content quarterly including but not limited to: blog posts, resources, social media content etc.

We are looking for someone who possesses the following:
- Registered Psychotherapist (RP) designation in good standing with CRPO
- Master's degree in Counselling or Psychology from an in-person program
- Strong knowledge and expertise in various therapeutic modalities (preferably trauma-informed)
- At least 5 years experience providing psychotherapy services to adults
- Integrity in their work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and compassion in working with clients
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
- Proficient in using electronic record-keeping systems, ideally Jane
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Continued professional development and commitment to ongoing learning
Additional Preferences:
- Has the flexibility to offer a variety of appointment times (morning, evening etc) with ideally at least 15 clinical hours per week
- Experience working in a private practice or clinic setting
- Understanding of trauma-informed care principles such as the polyvagal theory
Education:
- Master's Degree (required)
