Dynamic Machine Corporation's Fluid Power division is Manitoba's premier hydraulic shop — and we're looking for a skilled Hydraulic Cylinder Technician to join the team. If you take pride in precise, quality workmanship and want to work in a well-equipped shop alongside experienced tradespeople, this role is for you.
The Role
This is a hands-on shop position focused on the inspection, disassembly, repair, and reassembly of hydraulic cylinders. You'll work primarily in-shop with occasional field service at customer sites, backed by a strong, collaborative team.
Monday–Friday | Overtime available based on workload
What You'll Do
- Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild hydraulic cylinders to OEM specifications — including seals, rods, barrels, glands, and related components
- Measure parts accurately using calipers, micrometers, and precision tools to maintain proper clearances and tolerances
- Assemble new cylinders from blueprints, schematics, or written instructions; ensure all components are aligned and torqued to spec
- Identify worn or damaged parts and assist in sourcing replacements from inventory or suppliers
- Perform minor welding or support the welding team for cylinder component repair and fabrication
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Collaborate with technicians, apprentices, and support staff to keep workflow running smoothly
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in hydraulic repair, machining, or mechanical assembly
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and components — seals, rods, pistons, and cylinders
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals
- Proficient with precision measuring tools
- Able to lift and maneuver heavy components using cranes and hoists
- Basic welding skills considered an asset
- Team player with a positive attitude and a quality-first mindset
- Basic hand tools and tool chest required per company policy
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence preferred
