Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to transport freight across Midwest routes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of long-haul driving experience and be skilled in hauling both flatbed and dry van loads. Safety, professionalism, and on-time deliveries are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Transport freight safely and efficiently on long-haul routes throughout the Midwest.
- Operate tractor-trailers hauling both flatbed and dry van loads.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Secure flatbed cargo using appropriate chains, straps, and tarps when required.
- Ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed on schedule.
- Maintain accurate driver logs and comply with all applicable transportation regulations.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding load status, delays, and delivery updates.
- Follow company safety policies and maintain a clean driving record.
- Report any vehicle maintenance or mechanical issues promptly.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of verified long-haul truck driving experience.
- Experience hauling flatbed and dry van loads.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving abstract and ability to meet DOT/FMCSA requirements.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement procedures for flatbed freight.
- Ability to travel for extended periods and work flexible schedules.
- Excellent time management, communication, and customer service skills.
- Commitment to safe driving and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating across multiple Midwest & other states.
- Load securement certification is an asset.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting.
