The following three positions are available:

Elementary Teachers to begin - 2026- 27 School Year
WISE Charter School
Founded in 2010, the WISE Charter School of Edmonton is a solidly established and growing school that fosters an environment where the whole child (head, hands and heart) is nourished. The school is supported by a vibrant and caring group of teachers and parents, serving children from kindergarten to grade 9. The individual must be passionate about, and or interested in learning and implementing Waldorf pedagogy. In-house mentoring is also provided. Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education Degree.
- Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Nurturing personality.
- Artistically and or musically inclined is an asset.
- Committed to on-going personal and professional development.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task with confidence.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Creativity and independence in lesson planning skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- French is required only for the part time French Teaching position.
- Interest in learning more about Waldorf Education within casual roles, and if applying for a class teacher position, a willingness to attend Waldorf teacher training in-services or other Waldorf education opportunities.
Salary and Benefits:
- The current starting salary is $68,850 + per year for a full-time role.
- Employees working 0.5 FTE or greater are eligible for the Employee Health Benefits Program.
Hours and Length of Year:
- Classroom contact hours vary, from 8:15 AM to 3:25 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Classes run September to June.
In order to be considered for a position, please ensure that the following are sent in with your application:
- Resume and Cover Letter.
- Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Police records check for vulnerable sector completed within the last 6 months (will be required for hire)
- Reference letters and/ or reference contact info.
- Practicum notes if possible.
- First Aid- Standard level C (can be acquired after hire, and cost will be reimbursed)
- Please include a brief note outlining the grades you are most interested in or comfortable teaching (from kindergarten to grade 9).
- Please also indicate your experience, or if you would be comfortable teaching or guest teaching in the following specialty or elective subjects: Outdoor Education, Art, Singing, French, Music, Handwork/ Woodwork, Knitting, or Photography. Please feel free to share any other interests you may have! These additional skills are not necessary for a teaching role, but it is helpful to learn more about your interests! Thank you.
