Job Summary
Our optometry clinic is seeking a part‑time Optometric Assistant to join our team. This role supports reception, pre‑testing, optical dispensing, general administrative duties, and storefront upkeep. Initial hours may include Mondays, Wednesdays, and
Fridays, with the possibility of additional days in the future.
Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and providing a welcoming front‑desk experience
- Managing phone calls, scheduling, and patient communication
- Performing pre‑testing (training provided)
- Assisting with eyeglass selection, adjustments, and dispensing
- Maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment
- Supporting administrative tasks and daily clinic operations
Qualifications
- Friendly, patient, and detail‑oriented
- Fast learner with strong initiative
- Proficient with computers; comfortable learning new software
- Excellent communication skills (in‑person and phone)
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong multitasking and time‑management abilities
- Knowledge of eyeglass dispensing is an asset but not required
- Ability to converse in additional language(s) is an asset.
Compensation
Remuneration is based on experience.
