Position Summary
The Home Support Worker will provide personal care and support services to clients in their homes, assisting them with daily living activities and promoting their independence, comfort, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Always respect and uphold client confidentiality and dignity
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide meal preparation, feeding assistance, and light housekeeping
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and fall prevention
- Administer medication reminders as directed by the care plan
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, and community activities
- Monitor and report changes in client health, mood, or behavior to the appropriate supervisor
- Maintain accurate records, daily logs, and care documentation
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and social engagement
- Always respect and uphold client confidentiality and dignity
Qualifications and Requirements
- Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Certificate in Health Care Aide, Community Support Worker, or a related field (preferred)
- Previous experience in home support, personal care, or a healthcare setting (an asset)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately and independently
- Physically capable of assisting with transfers, lifting, and other care tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a strong sense of responsibility
- Culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds and beliefs
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (an asset)
- Current TB test and up-to-date immunizations (preferred)
