Axis Vac is seeking safety- driven, reliable candidates to join our staff and help grow our successful business as we meet the needs of our customers. We are currently seeking full time Journeyperson Powerline Technicians to join our team.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment including ariel booms, bucket trucks, diggers, backhoes, track hoe, skid steers and tension stringing equipment.
- Mount and secure upgrading trusses at heights using air and hydraulic tools.
- Re-secure and move underground facilities on pole and preform work in and around underground facilities.
- Detach and re-attach communication cables to allow for work to be performed.
- Pole setting for both power and telecom facilities
- Lashing of aerial coax, copper and fiber optic cables
- Stringing new messenger and properly tensioning
- Working in adverse weather conditions
- Working shift work potentially and working on the road for extended periods
- Climbing utility poles
- Other duties as assigned by management
Skills & Qualifications
- Red seal certification in trade
- Familiarity with telecommunications services
- Class 1 Drivers License asset
- Coordination and manual dexterity
- Mechanical aptitude
- Comfort with heights
- The ability to work in a team
- Adaptability to changing tasks and locations

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- Powerline Construction: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
- Powerline Apprenticeship/Journeyperson (preferred)
