We are currently looking for a Senior Assurance Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who has experience in audits and review engagements. The successful candidate will be responsible for being the senior on audit files, working on more complex files and must have the technical ability to do so. We are looking for an individual who is hardworking with a professional demeanour and can assist others with their file work. You must have the ability to work well with all members of the team, while building relationships with clients. For this position, we are not looking for an Articling Student or Bookkeeper. The position is perfect for someone looking for a career working in an Assurance department.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting, planning and preparing audits and review engagements
- Identifying audit issues and recommending solutions
- Liaising with the Assurance Senior Manager and Principal on files and keeping them informed of file progression
- Assisting new and junior staff on their file work
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients
- Assisting the Accounting team with compilations and personal tax returns from time to time
- Other tasks as they arise
Your Attributes:
- Completion of an Accounting diploma and/or Bachelors degree with an Accounting major
- At least 5 years of experience as an Accounting/Assurance Technician in a Professional Services environment
- Must understand and have practical experience in Audit and Assurance
- Knowledge in Canadian standards for ASPE, ASNPO and CAS
- Exceptional communication, time management and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Taxprep, Caseware and DocIt
