Job Overview [20 hours per week]
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves supporting client in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, working with autistic individuals, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. Duties
- This position is focused on our community access program which helps individuals with disability integrate into the community. Duties include but not limited to:
- Take individual to community outings and explore places of interest
- Assist individual with life skills which may include how to shop for grocery, go on bus rides, explore career opportunities that suit their need.
- Assist client with fun daily living activities such as outings to community places, hikes, visit to the gym, window shopping and other fun activities
- Offer companionship and emotional support tailored to individual needs
- Assist with activities that promote independence and wellbeing, including physical exercise at gyms and social development skills
- Monitor health status and report any concerns or changes to healthcare providers or supervisors
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, and working with people with autism.
- Knowledge of patient care, caregiving techniques, and medication administration
- Love of nature and physical wellbeing
- Strong communication skills and compassionate demeanor
- Familiarity with autism and related care, or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
- Ability to perform light cleaning duties and help individual keep his living space tidy is a plus
- Flexibility to adapt to various client needs and work environments
- Valid experience in working with vulnerable populations is highly valued

Pay: $16.25-$18.00 per hour
