We are looking to have an Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position will be office-based with occasional travel to site.
Key Responsibilities:

Electrical design package checking for layout, ground, calculations.

Prepare RFQ & PO packages for HV distribution power line, Switchgear, MCC & VFD systems, 600V MCC, UPS system and transformers.

Vendor bid packages technical evaluation and approval drawing review.

Develop single lines for LV, MV & HV systems and MV/LV VFD motor control system.

Responsible for electrical material purchase for the technical and engineering quality portions of documents (MRs, TBEs).

Electrical load calculation and equipment sizing.
-
Create load list and equipment list.

Equipment FAT, inspection, and substation integrated factory test (IFAT).
-
Comply with Company and Clients Standards for Electrical Engineering.

Evaluation of electrical equipment documents such as MRs and vendor documents for electrical material and components.

Field engineering review at Construction Site as support for construction when required.

System Load study with ETAP and area classification design.
-
Electrical support to other engineering disciplines.

Single line and grounding system design.

Responsible for EHT design.

Provide input to electrical value engineering into designs.

Electrical design package checking for layout, ground, calculations.

Electrical material selection and design.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree of Electrical Engineering.

10 – 15+ years of Engineering and design experience. Field experience is an asset.

Industry experience on Oil & Gas, familiar with SAGD facilities is an asset. Other experience such as Mining, Pipelines, Gas treatment, Gas compression package, Refinery, Upgrader is also acceptable.

Professional Engineer (APEGA PEng). Able to Authenticate Electrical documents and drawings.

Experience on LV & MV power systems distribution (HV power system distribution is an asset), electrical protection and MCC building projects.

Technical skills on motor control, VFD, EHT, lighting and grounding, ETAP model.

Experience on detailed designs for electrical systems.

Analytical and strategic thinking to solving problems and technical issues.

Good communication skills both in written and verbal.

Strong commitment to teamwork and work independently with minimal supervision.

Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from COOEC CA is required.
