Van Oordt Landscaping is currently seeking new team members to join one of our many divisions listed. Qualified candidate’s in any of our positions available must be willing to work 40-50 hours per week and are required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
HIRING MANUAL LABOUR FULL-TIME START IMMEDIATELY
Candidate’s responsibilities include :
- An excellent team player
- Responsible for own transportation to our shop in Kitchener
- Have the ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Have strong time management and organizational skills
- Be enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills
- Must be punctual and personable
- Have great communication skills
- Interact with clients and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner
- Willing to work 40-50 hours per week
- Must obtain WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety Awareness training (Provided by VOL)
Landscape Construction/Hardscape Position
Duties Include but not limit to:
- You are experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of landscape construction, including natural stone installation, interlock and planting. If you have experience in hardscape it would be an asset.
- Operating compact machine excavators and skid steer
- Operating gas powered machines: diesel plate packer, diamond blade saw, level tools.
- Setting smooth surface grades with stone dust material or topsoil.
- Construction of interlock pavers, raised patios, retaining walls, step systems, water features.
- Marking & cutting pavers, caps, wall bloc with accuracy.
- Softscape applications, planting & sodding.
- Ability to read & interpret landscape design drawings.
- Maintain a standard of organization & cleanliness on job site.
General Landscape Labour
You will primarily work on a small team sodding and grading. Be prepared for strenuous, very fast-paced, very demanding physical labour in all weather conditions. Qualified candidate will conduct work in a professional manner, stay focused and on-task and be able to work well with others.
Be able to follow directions and work efficiently with minimal supervision, and eager/willing to ask for clarification when needed.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Sodding, grading.
- Rock, debris removal and wheel barrowing.
- General landscape construction duties.
Landscape Maintenance Crew Member
Your primary work will be maintaining commercial properties and all aspects of ground maintenance. Monday to Friday 7am- 5pm minimum each week. Full-time position.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Operating commercial line trimmers
- Push mowers, gas blowers
- Raking, weed & debris removal
- Mulching, flower bed maintenance
- General landscape maintenance duties
- All positions are seasonal, with full-time hours. Possibility of extension to year-round positions may be available for snow removal .
All wages to be discussed and dependent on experience and proficiency on-the-job.
Salary: $18-$24/hr., dependent on experience and position applied for
