We are currently seeking passionate, inspiring, and experienced music coaches to join our growing Langley team.
This is a part-time independent contractor position, beginning with teaching on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the opportunity to add a third teaching day as your roster grows. Coaches can expect an initially smaller schedule that expands significantly throughout September and the school year. Most teaching days average 6+ teaching hours.
Who We're Looking For:
We're seeking a coach who can teach primarily:
- Voice
- Guitar
- Piano
- Songwriting
Additional experience in any of the following areas is highly valued:
- Ukulele
- Drums
- Music Production
- Performance Coaching
While candidates who teach multiple disciplines will be given strong consideration, we encourage passionate and exceptional educators to apply even if they do not teach all of the above.

Most of our instructors teach a blend of disciplines. For example, a coach whose primary focus is voice may also teach songwriting, piano, or guitar. This integrated approach allows students to develop as well-rounded musicians and creators.

We do this by fostering a culture of creativity, excellence and innovation. Our mission is to inspire students through qualifying personal expression, giving vision and encouragement. To provide instruction with practical tools (teaching methods / workshops) to grow musical expressions and to create and support outlets for students to share their music with others (i.e. Showcases, recording and other performing opportunities).
Qualifications:
Depending on the disciplines being taught, ideal candidates will possess many of the following:
- Advanced vocal ability with the capacity to teach voice lessons
- Strong guitar performance and instructional skills
- Strong piano performance and instructional skills
- Songwriting experience and the ability to teach songwriting concepts (required for songwriting instruction)
- Ability to teach additional instruments or disciplines is an asset
- Strong understanding of music theory and technique relevant to the subjects being taught
- Experience performing live music
- Experience with recording and production is an asset (required for music production instruction)
- Ability to engage and inspire students of all ages and skill levels
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Team-oriented attitude with a genuine passion for the Song of Stars mission and culture
- Ongoing interest in current music trends, industry developments, and music education practices
- Formal music education is an asset
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
Compensation:
This position is offered as an independent contractor role with ongoing roster growth opportunities.
We offer a competitive hourly rate based on education, experience, expertise, and teaching versatility.
