Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT / X-Ray Technologist) to join a leading radiology service provider in the Windsor-Essex region. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Operations Manager and Chief Technologist, delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients of all ages in a professional, safe, and patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures independently in accordance with departmental and organizational policies, protocols, and standards.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect for individual needs and cultural differences.
- Clearly explain procedures to patients in a calm, professional, and reassuring manner (without providing diagnostic interpretations).
- Ensure accurate image acquisition and documentation to support proper clinical assessment.
- Maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards, including IPAC and WHMIS requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with MRTs, sonographers, radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
- Respond appropriately to patient inquiries and concerns in accordance with organizational policies.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Uphold professional standards and accountability as required by regulatory bodies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current registration and good standing with the CMRITO (College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario).
- Certified Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) designation.
- Current CPR certification.
- Professional liability insurance (as required).
- Strong patient relations and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous learning.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: $38.00 – $47.00 (based on experience)
- Annual salary equivalent: $74,100.00 – $91,650.00
- Signing bonus: $30,000 (paid over 3 years – $10,000 annually)
