The Opportunity:
The Driver position is a valuable member of our Facility and Logistics team and is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion; client-centered care; integrity; kindness; quality; respect; and teamwork. This position reports to the Facilities and Logistics Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities are to deliver meals to schools, our depots, and directly to our client’s doors. As a Delivery Driver, you’ll drive a Calgary Meals on Wheels branded vehicle and will be delivering meals up to 50Ibs. You will be a delivery hero in the neighborhoods you serve – delivering smiles to clients each day in the form of nutritious meals for vulnerable students.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs on a daily basis.
- Strong interpersonal skills – friendly, approachable, and excellent communication
- Flexibility and availability
- Time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent knowledge of the city and comfortable driving in Calgary downtown core
- Ability to drive large cargo vans
- Clean police record and Vulnerable Sector Search
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean 3-year Drivers Abstract
- Proficient in spoken and written English
Calgary Meals on Wheels values a casual, friendly environment that recognizes the importance of work/life balance. Working hours are Monday to Friday, varying start times between 7:00AM to 9:00AM with 4–5-hour shifts.
