Junior Grain Buyer
Our client is looking for a Junior Grain Procurement Specialist to join their team at a well-established agricultural export company based in Princeton, Ontario.
In this role, you will play a key part in securing grain supplies from North American farmers to support the company’s containerized export operations. Your responsibilities will include sourcing high-quality grains, building strong relationships with producers, and ensuring timely delivery of commodities to meet international shipping demands. Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase grains, oilseeds, and cereals from producers through direct outreach and negotiations.
- Manage the entire procurement process, from initial price discussions to finalizing contracts.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with producers to secure reliable grain supplies.
- Collaborate with logistics and trade teams to align grain procurement with export schedules.
- Stay informed about market trends, commodity prices, and international demand to provide producers with accurate marketing insights.
- Ensure compliance with quality and documentation standards for specialty and export-grade grains.
- Conduct on-site farm visits to assess crop quality and discuss marketing strategies with producers.

Qualifications:
- Education in agribusiness, agriculture, or a related business field is preferred.
- A strong background in agriculture, such as a farm upbringing, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Basic knowledge of grain marketing, futures markets, and containerized shipping logistics is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing market conditions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel regionally for farm visits and meetings.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
